I am the Head of Library at St Rita’s College. My history as an educator began a long time ago and has seen me teaching in all three educational sectors, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary; in two different systems, State education and Catholic education; in Victoria and Queensland and following a stint working with youth and long term unemployed, I went back to uni to undertake my Post Grad library course.
I have ignored Web 2.0 tools for the last few years as my plate was always full, but with things becoming more under control this year, I have dipped my toes in the water. I have started a blog – very trial and error, so hoping the SLAVPLN course will give me lots of ideas and shortcuts – and have got a real buzz when people across the world have “liked” an entry. Have resisted having a Facebook page but guess I can always delete it after the course!
Developing a PLN was one of my goals for my educational journey this year, having always got lots out of my local COTLIBS network; I am keen to broaden my horizons. I have been a follower of Bright Ideas for a couple of years and love it.
